Nuts and Bolts


Now that NGS 2020 Live! is history, it's full steam ahead toward the merger of FGS and NGS.

So how are we making this happen?

Last Fall we kicked off a transition planning process which is being led by a group we call the “Transition Oversight Team.”

  • Ellen Balthazar, NGS Director
  • Matt Menashes, NGS Executive Director
The team is charged with ensuring that any issues that require resolution before the merger are identified and resolved, and working with lawyers for each organization to make the merger legal.

We’ve also set up a number of project teams to focus on identifying potential issues and coming up with solutions. The teams are focused on finance, technology, publications, membership, conferences, and awards. Team members come from both FGS and NGS and are working through issues to ensure we’re ready to roll when the merged organization begins operations.
